Who we are
Email this page to a friendThe Social Enterprise Training and Support Consortium (setas) was set up in November 2002 when Coin Street Community Builders hosted a meeting of social enterprise training providers and support agencies from across the country.

The purpose of the meeting was to look at opportunities for collaborative working. It was agreed that the Consortium should be formed with the following objectives.
- To facilitate the exchange of information and sharing of experience.
- To improve the quality of what is on offer.
- To enable those seeking training and support to find an appropriate product or provider.
- To jointly market and promote the collective 'offer'.
- To secure bursary funds both to enable those with limited resources to attend courses and to facilitate the development of a sustainable market for training.
The Consortium was successful in its bids to the DTI and Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to take forward the first four objectives by:
- Gathering info rmation about social enterprise support services and training products.
- Creating and promoting a website describing support services and training products offered by Consortium members
- Creating, advertising and distributing printed materials describing this collective offer
- Gathering user feedback and include this on the website to assist potential users to select appropriate to their need.
And this website is the result of this work. The Consortium continues to take forward the work on securing bursaries.
